THIS POEM WAS WRITTEN ON FRIDAY, APRIL 27, 2012, BUT I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT TO PUBLISH UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT. THIS IS NOT THE POEM FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 28, 2012, THAT WILL BE ADDED LATER TODAY.

limited warranty

life comes with a limited warranty
where things we value never last
and things we throw away last forever

the love a parent has for a child is timeless
but the time with the child is limited
to the parent every second is precious

to the child life will go on forever
and so will the lectures and lessons from adults
until that child gets married and has a family

when the child becomes a parent
they realize how much time was lost
and what once had no value now means the most of all
