angry

anger and pain
are twins
with a language
all their own
we watch
and wonder
why they
are always
together

they argue
over who
is older
when they
are only
seconds apart
on arrival
they speak
while we
struggle to tell
one from the other

I was here first
anger said
with a sneer
do not fool yourself
pain replied
sure you are full
of emotion
but I am
the reason
