Drugstore blues

to be sick in bed
full of pain reliever

is it starve a cold
and feed a fever?

whatever the cure
this is my plight

to be sick in bed
and up all night

with coughing and sneezing
eyes itchy and runny

next comes the tea
with lemon and honey

first this pill then that pill
and tissues by the ton

then orange juice and cough syrup
this really is not fun

dizzy and light-headed
I stagger to the door

time to face the blizzard
back to the drugstore
