the decline of man

each in turn to do their best
but none has yet to pass the test
for life is just a race to see
if the winner is you or me

many seem to have it all
but still refuse to heed the call
can anyone ever say
they did their best every day

but even this simple life of mine
will lose the race against father time
as we all grow older in every way
the decline of man is here to stay
