Haunted By The Past

Those haunted by the past are destined to repeat it
Said the ghostly old lady who appeared in a dream
Frail and nearly lifeless she shook as she spoke
But her words went through me and settled on my heart

The image was clear but her message was strained
Was it to enjoy each day before time slips away
Or was it to never live with a life full of regrets
Plan for the future and but keep all things in context

The answer it seems none may never know
But is a dream just a dream or does it mean more
All things in time will be the things that we hold dear
And maybe with time her message will become clear
